Beer and Seaton day trip, Sat 31 Oct 2026
Beer beach in the morning, Seaton beach and the tram in the afternoon, then home through Colyford and Colyton before dark. Built for two adults, two small boys and possibly two grandparents. Times are GMT, the clocks went back on 25 Oct.

Timed plan
Drive times are road routing estimates with no traffic. Add 10 to 15 minutes each way.
Map
Squares marked P are car parks. Solid blue lines are the drives. The dashed line is the loop through Colyton and home. Map data from OpenStreetMap contributors, routes from OSRM road routing. Drag and pinch to zoom.
Tides and weather
| Source | High | Low |
|---|---|---|
| devon-tides.com (Beer, from Lyme Regis) | 09:43, 3.8 m | 15:18, 1.2 m |
| WillyWeather (Beer) | 09:35, 4.41 m | 15:29, 1.13 m |
The two sources agree within about 10 minutes. The afternoon low is a small one, so expect only modest rock pools. Beer beach has no lifeguard, so keep clear of the cliffs and the waterline.

Open-Meteo forecast for Beer, pulled on 30 Oct. Fog is likely at 07:00 and 08:00, then clear or partly cloudy. Sunrise is 07:01. Live forecast: Met Office.
Parking
There is no car park called Seaton Harbour Road. Harbour Road is where the tram station (EX12 2NQ) and a toilet block are, and the car parks above sit beside it on The Underfleet. Colyford has no public parking, so that leg is a drive past.

What it costs
Parking is at the maximum rate for both towns, so it is a ceiling. Food is not included.
Callum is 3, so he pays the child tram fare and is free at the caves. Extra adults are priced at the single adult rate on top of the family ticket, which is my reading of the fares page. Caves tickets use the £15 adult rate, and £12.50 applies to anyone over 66.
